1992 Mustang GT
Jeremy Haymore * HP STAGE I Jeremy bought this car when he was 16 from an elderly lady when it had 77k miles on it and was completely stock. It stayed stock for about a week before he started adding and removing parts, and it wasn't long before he added nitrous to it. He was running the nitrous with a 90-shot without any fuel provisions when a bearing started knocking. A few months later he bought a brand new short block, ditched the nitrous and installed a Vortech A-trim. He really liked the power of the supercharger, but wanted to run more boost than the A-Trim was capable of. He then upgraded to the S-trim and ran it for a few thousand miles at 12 psi of boost. Then his father bought a 2003 Cobra and Jeremy really liked the feel of the roots-style blower. However, he had always like the idea of a turbo and decided to go that route. He started doing research on turbo kits and heard very good reviews about the HP Performance kit when he stumbled onto a guy that had a brand new HP kit for sale (he had sold his car before getting the kit installed). After purchasing the kit, he worked with HP on getting it installed in his car. Jeremy says the install was fairly simple and it took him about 16 hours total time to install it. After putting around 200 miles on the kit, he says, "I am very impressed with everything. I haven't had any problems out of anything and the car runs stronger at 7 psi than my Vortech did at 12psi. I would advise anyone that is looking into getting a turbo kit to go with HP Performance. The guys that work there are really good guys and will work with you to make sure you are satisfied."
Jeremy's plans for the future are a dyno tune and 3.55 gears.
"Drove it around town today and it feels real strong...Every time I
get into boost it breaks loose.....3.55's and dyno tune on the way. It runs good and I am seeing 7lbs of boost. It
seems to be fully spooled by 3000 RPM. I have 4.10 gears in it right now and it
revs up so fast it seems like I hit 6000 RPM before i can blink. I am getting
the 3.55's put in soon. It makes more power at 7lbs of boost than my Vortech did at
12lbs."
