MASS AIR METERS

76mm 5.0 Mustang Mass Air Flow Meter

This is the mass air unit that comes standard with our Fox Body (79-93) Mustang Stage I, II and III turbo systems with up to 42# injectors.  We have seen excellent results for great power increases and absolutely stock driveability.  Here is what C&L says about it:

"Owners of fox body Mustang vehicles who want to maintain their original inlet plumbing or use another manufacturers inlet pipe have two choices when it comes to upgrading their factory mass airflow unit. We offer both 73mm and 76mm units by themselves, and they both deliver a noticeable improvement in performance on both stock and modified 5.0 Mustang vehicles. The factory 55mm unit on these vehicles flows 550 cfm and is actually 5mm smaller than the stock throttle body. The 73mm unit flows 700 cfm and the 76mm flows nearly 800 cfm, and they are both direct fit replacements for the factory 55mm unit.

Dyno testing by us, our distributors and the major magazines have shown that by replacing the stock unit with one of our 73mm units, you can expect 8 more rear wheel horsepower and as much as 11 additional rear wheel horsepower when installing our 76mm unit. The difference in performance is not primarily due to the increase in airflow, but rather through a slightly more refined calibration. The original 73mm units calibration was developed using flowbench and track test data.

When the 76mm unit was developed, we decided to focus our calibration testing on the dyno, and this allowed us to find 2-3 more horsepower by fine-tuning the air/fuel ratio even further. The 73mm unit has been used on vehicles that run low to mid-10's in the quarter mile and generate as much as 600 rear wheel horsepower on the dyno. The 76mm unit will support the airflow needs of a 9 second quarter mile vehicle and will supply air to engines generating up to nearly 800 horsepower."

85mm and 95mm Tuner Mass Air Meters

The 85mm tuner mass air meter is the unit that we recommend as an upgrade for our Fox Body (79-93) Mustang Stage I, II and III turbo systems using larger than 42# injectors.  The 95mm tuner mass air meter is used with our '02-'04 Mustang twin turbo systems.  We have seen excellent results for great power increases and absolutely stock driveability.  Here is what C&L says about them:

"Our 85mm Tuner MAF is a new type of mass airflow unit that is designed specifically for use by tuners and those individuals who use adjustable computer systems such as the Tweecer and EEC-Tuner packages. Measuring in at 85mm and flowing 1215 CFM, it is the largest size that will fit the most common 3 1/2" diameter plumbing used by most aftermarket supercharger or turbocharger applications for 1989-2001 Ford vehicles."

This unit is intended to support high horsepower applications, including blow-through arrangements generating as much as 1200 HP. This new patent pending design has several unique features that set it apart from other meter designs. By drawing the sampled airflow from towards the center of the housing, the orientation of the meter will have little effect on its reading. Reversing airflow from an improperly routed bypass system can not directly effect the sensor's readings and the range of the unit (3400 kg/hr) will allow for serious levels of power before the air meter will hit the 5 volt maximum level allowed by the EEC computers. This unit is ideal for use on 1989-2001 Mustangs and other Ford performance vehicles. These units each come complete with the appropriate transfer function sheet and installation tool.

Owners of 2002 and newer 4.6L Mustangs can use our 95mm unit as a 6-wire high horsepower solution to replace the original 80mm housing, as it will allow for nearly 800 flywheel horsepower. This unit comes with the appropriate transfer function sheet and installation tool as well, and is an easy way to extend your horsepower potential well beyond the 450 HP level of the factory unit that was supplied on these vehicles as stock.

85mm Tuner MAF for 86-01 Mustang  = $199.00
95mm Tuner MAF for 02-04 Mustang  = $199.00
